The Website Development Process

Consultation: Website Development encompasses talking to you about your needs, evaluating your current business and determining how this will best fit into an online presence. We discuss with you who your target market is, what your primary product or service is and any additional services you wish promote on the website. We will also determine how you will use the website. Will it be to sell products or services using e-commerce. Or, will you simply place information on the website. We will also work with you in choosing a domain name and appropriate website hosting.

Content Collation & Website Design Concept: Following this the consultation, we ask for a 50% deposit so we can begin your website development. We then take any promotional material you have -- business cards, brochures, digital images, photographs, etc. -- and within two weeks, create a graphic design concept for your website. We'll place this in a temporary location online for you to have a look at, and we'll discuss with you any changes you wish to make; then finalize the design. Throughout this process, you can write content for the website. (Don't worry, we're more than happy to help with this if you're unsure how to go about it.) Once the content is complete, we'll ask for this to be emailed to us as well as any extra images you would like to feature on the website.

Website Design & Construction: Over the next week or two (depending on the size of the website) we will create the website based on the graphic design concept, and continually place it in the temporary location for you to monitor its progress. At the conclusion of the website development process, we'll ask you to review the entire site and tell us of any changes you wish to make; then we upload the website to its final location on final payment.

Website Marketing: Finally, we talk with you about how to promote your new website both offline and online. This can be done by using our built-in bulk email marketing system - or, our enhanced bulk emailing system. We will explain the best ways to handle online requests, how to go about modifying the website later, and suggest a marketing package. Or, you could choose a Search Engine Optimization package , where we continually enhance the ranking of your website by modifying aspects of your website, negotiating links to your website and carefully submitting your website to appropriate search engines and directories.

If search engine optimization is not desired, rest assured your Focused Idea website will already be very search engine compatible, and this provides you a marginal edge over your competitors. Your new website will also include hand submission to the major search engines, careful inclusion of your website in the most popular directories such as Google, Yahoo and DMOZ, as well as suggestions on how you can marketing your website yourself.
